Everyday we shall try as much as possible to provide the young ones and anyone who
might have a dream with inspiration, goals can be achieved and there is evidence of this in
the stories of great achievers who walked and who are still working this earth with us.
If you know a story of an achiever living or dead do not hesitate to share it with us, we are
interested in the story of achievers and we are interested in telling ourselves “we are
achievers”
OUR HERO TODAY PREACHES:
Humility
One man’s hero is another tyrant, so we do not expect people to be agreed that the heroes
here are heroes of all time. Our intention is not to create mini gods our intention is to show
that great men are human and to this our hero today gave credence when he said:
"We have been a child, a boy, a youth, an adult, and finally an old man. Like everyone else.
Our Lord the Creator made us like everyone else," (in an interview with Oriana Fallaci,
Chicago Tribune, June 24, 1973)
Religious Tolerance:
He touched on something that I strongly advocate, religious tolerance; he has this to say on
that subject:
"Knowing that material and spiritual progress are essential to man, we must work
ceaselessly for the attainment of both...No one should question the faith of others, for no
human can judge the ways of God"
"Since nobody can interfere in the realm of God we should tolerate and live side by side with
those of other faiths… We wish to recall here the spirit of tolerance shown by Our Lord
Jesus Christ when He gave forgiveness to all including those that crucified Him." (op. cit.).
Forgiveness:
He visited the then West Germany in 1954, the first head of state to do so after the end of the
Second World War. Many elderly Germans still vividly remember and are inspired by this
visit by an African king as it signaled their acceptance back to the world, as a peaceful
nation. He donated blankets to the then war torn Germany. This is an act of forgiveness in
that Hitler despised blacks.
