DO MIN. FARRAKHAN'S WORDS SPREAD HATE, OR HEALING?
George Malik al-Mahdi

Recently, the Most Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan addressed a group
of spiritually mature Black people, who's hearts are configurated to
be healed by teachings of truth.  As expected, the press
characteristically described his speech as that of hate.  Those of us who know better
know that Minister Farrakhan's words are words that have the potential
to heal.

In science, energy is defined as something that possesses power to
put forces into motion.  Therefore, a reasonable question to ask,
regarding the words of Minister Farrakhan are as follows:  Do his words
possess energy?  In general, do words posses energy?

DNA, the arbitrar of information within living things, argueably is
most active within the brain.  DNA takes amino acids and places them into
sequences of information called proteins.  Subsequently, proteins exert
forces within a body that are needed for survival.

Like proteins, language is a sequential arrangement of words.  Words
posses a special, dual nature.  The word "up" has meaning, only because
of the existence of the word "down."  The word "cold" has meaning, only
because it's relative to the word "hot."  Therefore, if language
consists of words, and language can be used to establish group identity
within a mass of people, then isn't it a natural extension that groups of
people also posses a duality of identity?

What duality of identity?  The identity of individuals exists
inseperably from the identity of groups who share a common history, and
evolution.

What forces do language put into motion?  Group agendas, group
conciousness, and a positive effect upon the will of groups of people, who
embrace a cooperative identity.  As important as an individual's identity
is, GROUP identity is, by virtue of numbers, far greater than individual
identity.  Groups posses far more energy than individuals do.  Like
the coordinated response of our immune systems, the survival, or death,
of groups depends upon the willingness of individuals within groups to
act in a coordination, one with another.  Minister Farrakhan's words,
placed within him by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, seek rest and refuge
within the minds of people who recognize that there exists a duality
within their existence.

What, over the course of time, has made Black people sick?  The
destruction of the importance of group identity.  Whether the destruction is
caused by oppression, or paternalism, our sickness as a people is more
evident today than ever.

Consider how groups of fish are commonly referred to as "schools."  In
nature, "herds" of horses, "flocks" of sheep, "swarms" of bees, and
many, many other living entities could not exist if each individual did
not have a sense of communal responsibility.  Life and survival are
directly proportional to the willingness to communicate; to utilize LANGUAGE
for group and individual well-being.

If Black people's sense of group identity is flourishing, then why
doesn't self-governance, self-teaching, and NATIONALISM cause us to act
cooperatively against the forces that threaten to either outright destroy
us, or enslave us, forever?  You'd be hard pressed to find another
group of people as non-productive as Black people living in America.
Collectively, we make more money than some small countries.  However, we
take the money we make, and use it to make an age-old enemy, who cares
nothing about our well-being, filthy rich.

If you gave a goat a stack of money, it wouldn't create a bank, a
school, or a society in which goats could thrive.  Why?  Because the
mentality needed to enact such an agenda with money is non-existent to goats,
or African Americans.  That goat would simply eat the money, waste the
money, in the same way that we do.

The Most Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's message is anything but
one of hate.  It's one of healing.  His life's work of trying to awaken
the Black masses, a group that is made up of Black individuals, is one
of healing.  His message is of guidance, and he, like so many of us,
simply want the same power to control our destiny the way other groups of
people do.

We would be wise to recognize the virtue in the teachings of the
Honorable Elijah Muhammad.  God won't keep sending us messengers forever.
The longer we continue to live our paternalistic lifestyles as
individuals, rather than seeking peace and refuge through self-governance, we run
the risk of living in slavery, forever.

Thanks so kindly for reading these few words, and may our prayers
accompany Minister Farrakhan on his noble journey to awaken the sleeping
giant known as "Black America."
