                                    Minorities Protection

Whatever is in the interest of minorities is close to our hearts at Minorities Interests.
United we stand is a popular saying, it should not be just a saying; it should be a way
of life. Anyone with average intelligence and education knows how powerful the
media is in shaping our lives, and how helpless one can be when there’s no one to
promote your course and sell your views.

Read the papers and talk to your friends, then you will realize how effective the media
campaign is in shaping our worldview. They make us hate whoever they want us to
hate and to like whoever they want us to, reason being that some of us have been
doctored not to even read between the lines, in everyday words, some of us are totally
and undoubtedly brainwashed.

It might be fun when other people are targets of media killer campaigns, it won’t be
so funny if and when they turn against us.

One of the defenses that have been found to be effective in the face of massive
negative media propaganda has been the coming together of the people at the
receiving end and those who appreciate and willingly align themselves with their
struggle for the simple reason that, when you are fair minded, what is wrong is wrong.

There are series of campaigns going on most of which are adverse to the interest of
minorities especially the Hispanic communities. Immigration is a very hot topic right
now, one that one has to mind the kind of opinion one expresses in public, especially
if you have some kind of sympathy for the so called “illegal/undocumented” aliens.

Some of us who are not Hispanic might be tempted to turn our attention to other
things when the Hispanics are being persecuted, when it is our turn, we should not
feel any qualms if the Hispanics turn their attention to other things.

It is not our position here that the arguments of the anti-illegal immigrants’ crusaders
are totally baseless but some of them are not enunciated to support mending the
broken immigration law some views are simply hate related.

It is not just the minorities that should be irked about some of the arguments being
tendered; anyone who believes in fairness and justice ought to be concerned about
some people’s stance especially, taking into consideration that this is a country that
prides itself as a just society.

Immigration is not the only issue adversely affecting Immigrants’ existence in
America right now. Someone in authority need to take a hard look at the survival of
small business operators, although small business owners are likely to be in the
majority, vis-à-vis the big corporations, what exactly is their bargaining power?

Everyone in America is desirous of achieving that American dream, having one’s
business is, without doubt, one of such dreams. What is on the ground in ensuring
there are no unnecessary blockages on the part of small business owners in their
quest to achieve the American dream? How can you achieve the dream when others
are bent in making sure that you don’t. What are small businesses doing to forge a
united front to ensure that their dreams are not killed before fertilization?

Are there some kinds of organizations whose objectives are to protect the small
businesses, if there are, are they effective? If these organizations are effective are
they known, how are they reaching out to small businesses and what is their method
of receiving complaints from small business? What do they do with the complaints
received?

Here at Minorities Interests we are going to research the presence or otherwise of
groups, associations and such other bodies that may be committed to protecting the
interests of the minorities and small business owners, how effective they are and
how to reach them when you need them. There’s no sense in some people fighting
for your rights and you not being able to find them when you need their help.

After finding these groups we intend to talk to people at the helms of affairs in such
organizations so that you will know exactly how their respective organizations can
protect you and what steps you need to take when you need their help.

Where any of such organizations is open to membership from the public, we will let
you know how you can be a member, the benefit of being a member and whether or
not, from our perspective, you should be a member of such organizations.

We will be sending out request for interviews with these organizations, we will keep
you posted.

Watch out!
