THE JOY OF PARENTHOOD
Michael Femi Ewetuga
Just imagine people getting exasperated after 12 hours, 14 hours flight and
imagine what it will be like on a 9 months journey. One of the things I so much
admire women for is their patience in taking that trip with their children even
when it is so uncomfortable, nausea, vomiting and all. I see the umbilical cord
like the hand of a mother holding that of her child encouraging him to just
keep moving, assuring him that it will soon be over.
COLORBLINDNESS
Michael Femi Ewetuga
At these meet politics is usually the center of discussion and most of us will rule with our
mouth what our military/politicians or professional politicians, after the enthronement of
democracy, could not do with the resources available to them. With our mouth we would
make Nigeria a paradise that will be the envy of all and sundry in the world. These sort of
topics usually have some people supporting and others opposing, you can expect a
shouting match.
What's Love Got To Do With It? Part 1
Michael Femi Ewetuga
When at work, do just that, work! Flirting with colleagues/co-workers is affording the devil
the opportunity to tempt you. If you are wise enough to prevent the devil from tempting you
into driving from the highway into the ocean, if you did not yield to his temptation of getting
you to electrocute yourself or cutting your neck then you need to be strong and not yield to
the temptation of “mistakenly” brushing your lips against some other lips you have no
business brushing your lips against. Do not allow the devil to tempt you into mistakenly
playing with toys that do not belong to you, don’t go licking candies that are not yours, do
not drive your car into someone else’s garage and leak your oil therein. When the
consequences of your acts manifest you and not the devil will feel the heat. Don’t be a
sucker for the devil. If you don’t leave an avenue for temptation, you won’t be sorry.

Continuation of what’s love got to do with it 1
Michael Femi Ewetuga
Some people opined that there are so many obstacles that prevent people in
love to express their love for each other fully and unhindered, others retorted
that if it is true love there ought to be no hindrance, in their opinion the
society has no right to make rules as to who one should or should not fall in
love with.

Continuation of what’s love got to do with it 2
Where two people practicing different religions find themselves in love then
there’s a serious obstacle in the way of the love they profess for each other.
In the religious circle it does not matter that you love someone who practices
another religion because that would be putting self before God. You are told
by the bible not to be unequally yoked with the unbeliever and if you are
trying to marry the love of your life who happens to belong to another faith
and you plan on dumping yours assuming you are a Christian and taking up
his you are doomed because the bible asserts that Jesus is the way the truth
and the light and no one cometh unto the father except through the son.
EXCLUSIVE LOVE
Michael Ewetuga
Sometimes the love between parents goes sour and they shamelessly bring
the children into the feud. Some are so shameless they sit the children down
and tell them most horrifying tales about the other person, a situation that
confuses the children and make them unhappy and that could affect them
psychologically in future.
ARE BLACKS JINXED?
Michael Femi Ewetuga
What I am interested in is what is wrong with being black?
African countries were colonized by the white people who started leaving in
the 50s and 60s. I was told by my history teacher that the white people were
reluctant to give Nigeria her independence on the ground that we were not
matured enough to rule ourselves, sometimes some of us wonder if they were
not right after all.
FREEDOM UNDER THE LAW
Michael Femi Ewetuga
Man thought it will be better if justice is derived from fairness rather than strength, the fact
that you are the strongest does not make you right. Your action has to be subjected to the
sense of fairness of the majority. People in a community then gave their powers to another
set of people that we today call government to regulate the society. This is explanation on
how the law came to be for full understanding of a layman and this is the foundation for
modern day society.
Happy Birthday to my Son

audible. He will and will sing along with the music in his baby language but his

he will laugh and sing and try to walk only to fall back down and then struggle
up. That boy was a miracle.

Darwin's God

God has always been a puzzle for Scott Atran. When he was 10 years old, he
scrawled a
plaintive message on the wall of his bedroom in Baltimore. “God exists,” he
wrote in black and
orange paint, “or if he doesn’t, we’re in trouble.” Atran has been struggling
with questions
about religion ever since — why he himself no longer believes in God and why
so many other
people, everywhere in the world, apparently do.

Anthropologists like Atran and psychologists as far back as James had been
looking at the roots of religion, but the mutual hands-off policy really began to
shift in the 1990s. Religion made incursions into the traditional domain of
science with attempts to bring intelligent design into the biology classroom
and to choke off human embryonic stem-cell research on religious grounds.
Scientists responded with counterincursions. Experts from the hard sciences,
like evolutionary biology and cognitive neuroscience, joined anthropologists
and psychologists in the study of religion, making God an object of scientific
inquiry.

LET YOUR PAST SHAPE YOUR FUTURE

they regard as being superior to them, they look up to these superiors for
guidance, they it is a slave mentality. The mentality to want to be like the slave
owners, the masters, to talk like it is a slave mentality. The mentality to want to
be like the slave owners, the masters, to talk like them, to walk like them, to be
them. That mentality is the reason why we denied our heritage, our
philosophy, our civilization, our identity. That is why we are not developed,
that is why we shall continue to live in darkness and that is why our continent
will continue to be regarded as a dark continent and we ourselves not better
than animals. See below, Lord Lugard’s impression about the black man:

MUTUAL SUSPICION BETWEEN AFRICANS AND AFRICAN/AMERICANS
Written by Michael Femi Ewetuga
I have read a lot about African men, online and offline. If you have not met
one, you would think he’s the devil incarnate. It is unfortunate though that
mostly his attackers are Africans too or should I say African Americans. They
have a lot of axes to grouse with their African brothers, if we agree we are
brothers that is, because I have been told by an African American that she
was born in America and so were her parents and as far as she was
concerned she is American. Period.

African Men, African-Americans and Women
Michael Femi Ewetuga
Some women believe that because they make their own money, have their
own cars and own their own homes, then men are nothing. They soon realize
that money; cars and the so-called good jobs would never be substitutes for
the company of a good man. A nice home is like a graveyard when there’s no
one to cuddle with. There’s no substitute for a good companion, one you can
kiss, hug, eat with and have a good laugh with. Pricilla offers temporary relief
but that is not as warm and as satisfying as slipping into dreamland in the
arms of a loving man.
Davin's God Part 4
By ROBIN MARANTZ HENIG
Hardships of early human life favored the evolution of certain cognitive tools,
among them the ability to infer the presence of organisms that might do harm,
to come up with causal narratives for natural events and to recognize that
other people have minds of their own with their own beliefs, desires and
intentions. Psychologists call these tools, respectively, agent detection, causal
reasoning and theory of mind.

SELFLESS LEADERSHIP
Michael Femi Ewetuga
If you want to put on designers’ stuff make sure that your people can afford at
least decent clothing with their wages. But then decent clothes must be out of
their reach so that you can oppress them. If you want to live in a mansion that
is your headache but then you must make sure that your people have decent
houses to live in, but then nobody would come and beg to live with you.
If you want to fly in a jet, make sure that your people can at least fly in
commercial airplanes. If you want to drive expensive cars make sure that your
people have good transportation from one destination to the other.
African leaders are beasts and the people must be poor so that they can look
at them with awe like some mini gods that ought to be worshipped.
Who cares about what you are wearing, what car you are driving or the stupid
gold on your neck if people could just live a decent life.
SO THAT MAN MAY BE FREE
Michael Femi Ewetuga
Senseless men, intolerant and fearful of differences, killing and maiming
because they do not understand that there’s strength in diversity, God bless
that philosopher who said no man is so foolish as to be completely useless. It
takes a man of reason and a man of honor and a man of respect to see
wisdom in what ordinarily appears foolish and to give honor even when
people felt it was not deserved and to show respect even to people that are
regarded as being beneath him because none is. The power to reason is a
privilege God gave to people it is not something that is to be used to ridicule
others or to point out their inadequacies.
LIVING IN AMERICA
Michael Femi Ewetuga
First shock.
A highly educated Nigerian, respected for his fluency in the English language
back home is shocked when he is treated like a kindergarten pupil vis-à-vis
that language. He might even belong to a profession that uses that language
as a tool such as the legal or media profession. He sticks out like a sore
thumb anytime he opens his mouth. He is immediately noticed because of his
accent. Some even try to speak like Americans with no success because the
accent is like an eczema that refuses to go away. He might blend in other
aspect of live but as far as speaking the English language with an American
accent is concerned he is stuck. He finds himself being corrected by people
less educated.
GOOD AMBASSADORS
Michael O. Ewetuga
Nigeria, a country known for scam letters and Internet fraud, is in need of
good ambassadors. I refused to believe everything about Nigeria is negative
and I am dedicated to promoting the positive aspect of our country in order to
educate the people that Nigeria is much more than scam and that those who
are engaged in such nefarious activities are in the minority.

The need for a revision of Nigerian Corporations etc Part 1
By Olumide K. Obayemi
When did an isolated private sale of stock by a shareholder to another
shareholder become an issue for a federal court? Is this not an ordinary
contract between two private individuals? Can a private sale of shares not be
distinguished from a public offering of shares by a corporation to the entire
public?
