City Place

I told everyone that cares to listen that I’m in the business of informing the
people as to where to go to get the groove on every weekend, in order to
get people to fun places I solicited my friends and acquaintances help in
getting me to fun places so people won’t waste their hard earned dollars
going to places that aren’t worth it.

I would rather stay at home watching TV or play a game or 6two on the
computer rather than waste not just my time but also money going to places
where you will feel like going to sleep, places where what you do all night is
yawn.

There are different reasons for going to the club and one of them, as far as
I am concern is not standing around the dance floor holding a drink and
pulling ladies that are passing by, that sure is ungentlemanly and when I’m
in the club I like to be a gentleman or at least pretend to be one. When I go
to the club I want to listen to good music and dance like hell, you see, I love
dancing.

I was at home on this particular Friday playing monopoly on www.atari.
com/us, if you ever feel bored that is one game site you can go to and relax
although the site will slow down your browser eventually and you may have
to reboot.

There I was playing monopoly with intent to go to bed eventually when a
lady I had met at one of the clubs imed me on yahoo. “You’re not going to
first Friday’s?” she asked “what do you mean?” I typed in form of reply.
“First Friday at City Place” she wrote back.

She went on to explain that every first Friday of the month it goes down at
City Place. She further explained that it’s a place where young black
professionals meet every first Friday to get together and have fun. Since I’
m black, a professional, young I believe is relative I thought it won’t be such
a bad idea to go and meet these enterprising people.

She told me dancing goes on in four different rooms and you can choose to
dance to either soul, R&B, Old School or swing out, you can dance to all of
them if you feel like. She claimed that having a good time is a foregone
conclusion since there’s no club drama and people are generally well
dressed meaning no sports wear, jeans of any kind or you get turned
around and cover is 25.

I went in search of the club which was off of 75. There were four dancing
rooms like she claimed but were they dancing, maybe if you like to swing,
the other rooms’ dance floor were virtually empty and as to the dress code,
see for yourself.
